Distant Horizons

Distant Horizons, the best mod for Minecraft (in my opinion), lets you view insanely far without a huge performance loss.
It does that by using LOD’s (level of detail), which decreases the quality of the terrain far away.

But it only renders the terrain you were before. So you cant just turn the render distance up and search for bases 😉,
except the server has the Distant Horizons plugin, then you can pre-generate the LOD’s.

I think its an absolute must-have for all minecraft players.

      i would say that it uses more cpu rather then gpu tho
