Epsilon v1.7.2 - MC 1.0.0 client

Post by HAV0X - July 26, 2025

This is another old client, I shook the 10+ year old dust off of this one, and now am ready to make a review on it!

This is another client I used on Wayback anarchy - a defunct anarchy server that would step through Minecraft versions once per month. It used ancient nocheat for anticheat, and generally ran on sticks and gum. The server ran on versions so old that ViaForge, multiconnect, and other protocol translators couldn’t connect, so we were stuck using clients from that era.

While the server was on 1.0.0, my client of choice was Epsilon. Epsilon was released back in December of 2011, Minecraft 1.1 had already come out, making this client not very useful at the time. However, Epsilon for 1.0.0 is a very strong client nowadays. It has many modules that actually work, and can even bypass nocheat!

Epsilon really leans into the “hacker” aesthetic, with its custom splash screen, logo, removal of the singleplayer button, and making your chat bar color green and start with a “+” instead of a “>”. Its endearing now, if any client did that unironically now, they would probably get laughed out of the room - but that’s just how things were back then. The module/command list showing up in the center of the screen when you press the left control key is rather standard for the time too, despite it looking rather ugly at 1080p.

This client is fully featured - especially compared to other clients of the time. Griefcraft and Epsilon are the two most complete clients that I’ve found for 1.0.0 so far, they don’t have clickGUIs or any sort of saving feature, however their modules and features really make the cheating experience great. Epsilon especially stands out because it has a TON of modules, each one actually works on my 1.0.0 CraftBukkit test server. It is akin to modern clients, in some ways, but has the quirks typical of a client of the time, like freecam kicking you if you don’t type .back and just disable it. Its nuker module actually works, which is a big surprise to me. It even has an aimbot that works with the mob and kill auras.

(This is an insane amount of commands)

One of the super neat things I discovered is that Epsilon can bypass NoCheat’s flight setback. Normally when you use the flight module with nocheat, it would set you back to your starting point, but if you took damage, it would ignore the flight check for a limited amount of time. Epsilon has a .punch command, which will make the client hit yourself. If you bind .punch to a key and turn on flight + fastfly, you could repeatedly punch yourself to bypass the flight check and fly like a fat bee. The message “Why ya hittin yourself?” popping up in chat every time you used the command slightly endearing, slightly annoying.

In my opinion, Epsilon is such a good client that you might want to spin up a 1.0.0 server and use it just to understand how far Minecraft clients have come. This client is like the Future or Rusherhack of it’s time, but still we have come a long way.

To install Epsilon and other old clients.
To install using MultiMC:
1. download and run Minecraft 1.0.0
2. edit instance
3. go to version, click Add to Minecraft.jar or Replace Minecraft.jar
4. replace Minecraft.jar with Epsilon’s jarfile
5. run the game, there should be a different splash screen and main menu.
